Badr El Jundi opened his gallery in Marbella, Málaga, in July 2020. In September 2022, he relocated the gallery’s headquarters to Madrid, where it operated until April 2024, when the commercial gallery began its transition into the Badr El Jundi Foundation.
Throughout its trajectory, the gallery represented international artists, bridging diverse cultures and fostering dialogue and intellectual growth. Badr El Jundi functioned as a contemporary art gallery with a strong commitment to supporting and promoting international artists, generating projects rooted in creative experimentation.
The gallery space was conceived as a site for reflection on the evolving possibilities of artistic media, with a particular focus on artists from the founder’s generation. Its program centered on the production of site-specific projects, including both solo and group exhibitions, and involved collaborations with national and international curators. These initiatives encouraged interaction among the various actors of the contemporary art scene and the development of discourse through direct engagement with artists.
The transition to foundation status has opened new possibilities, allowing greater freedom to pursue experimental projects, support emerging artists, and invest in educational programs that prioritize artistic impact and community engagement. The foundation also supports charitable initiatives related to health and children, collaborating with hospitals, orphanages, and other institutions.
